Hand-Me-Downs

Oh yeah, and this is what I wore today
When I was little, being the youngest of 3 girls, I had a lot of hand-me-downs thrown my way. Oh how I hated getting my big sister's cast offs, but such is life, and being a mom now, I can understand. I spend a lot of $$ on R's cute outfits, and if I am ever lucky enough have another little boy, he will be sporting some of them too. But I digress. The same big sister whose outfits I had to wear now works for a pretty major designer. She gets lots and lots of shoes and clears out her shoe closet regularly. We are pretty much the same shoe size so anytime she does a shoe closet "clean out" I'm right there, sorting through her rejects. I added a couple of pictures of my recent loot. One woman's trash, another woman's treasure :)

Saved

I saved this outfit photo from a Christening we attended a couple of weekends ago. Not much else to say except that I really like these pants from Loft. Oh and allergies stink. I can't wait to go to bed and (hopefully) sleep off this nasty headache!

Testing Testing

Sigh. This week has been exhausting, filled with state testing. Yes they make Kindergarten students in my school district take a standardized test every year, over a 2 day period. I've spent the past month and a half prepping my little munchkins on stuff like "neatly filling in bubbles" and all sorts of other goodies that go along with testing. Fun times! Today's math portion was particularly unfair and ridiculous. That's all I can really say about THAT without getting myself into some kind of trouble. The good news, it's over and there were no tears/panic attacks/throwing up (because that has been known to happen) And tomorrow is going to be a 75 degree Friday followed by a 75 degree Saturday. Things are looking up :)

Saturday Spring Style

Nothing much going on here. Just trying to relax before heading back to the grind next week. The picture is super blurry, but you get the idea. Tank, cardigan, jeans, peep toes, a Saturday spring staple!

Time Flies

Wow I can't believe it's already Friday! This spring break flew right by and we didn't even do much. We mostly hung around the house and rested, which was much needed because the last few months of the school year are always hectic. I did do some shopping, mostly for Robert, but I did pick up these great Michael by Michael Kors peep toe wedges at Macy's. They were on sale plus I had a gift card.

Oh AND we booked our trip to Disney World for this August. 6 Days in Disney and 4 on the gulf coast of FL. This summer is our 10 year wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something big. I can't wait! I know, I know, Florida in August will be very hot. Everyone I tell has been giving me a "look" when I tell them when we're going, but we survived Italy during the summer of 2003, when people were literally dying in Europe from the oppressive heat. So I think we will be able to manage Florida.
I spent my last official day of vacation going out to brunch with my mom and R and enjoying the gorgeous spring weather!

Neutral Easter

I usually love to wear colors or florals on Easter but I wanted to wear my new Loft skirt and decided to stick to the neutral shades. I was going to go with my pink peep toes but when I had them on something just seemed a little off and I felt more comfortable in the black. So I stuck with them. I know sometimes it's good to step outside of the comfort zone but I think a lot of fashion is also going with what makes you feel great, and I felt great in yesterday's Easter outfit!

Colored Pants

I have been wanting a pair of colored pants for spring and when I spotted this pair at Loft last week I scooped them up. I'm excited because I feel like I have a lot of options for wearing these this spring/summer. I also picked up a pair of green cropped pants from NY&Company on the same shopping trip. Loving all the color this spring.

I kicked off my spring break yesterday by going to see The Hunger Games with my friend. It did not disappoint! I thought the actors did a tremendous job and the movie pretty much stayed true to the book. I'm excited for Catching Fire, but not excited to wait a year and a half until it's released! We're not traveling for spring break and I'm looking forward to just relaxing at home and experimenting with casual spring outfits!
